Pastor's Web Page - February 2012 . . .

My head has been spinning a bit these first weeks of the year, but mostly for good reasons.  We picked up fall's Going Missional theme as discernment agenda for our annual prayer series, and it has been interesting, even exciting, to sense the possibilities of greater involvement in our community.  It's been humbling to become aware of all the community activities our people are already involved in.  Our Going Missional bulletin board is full, and the print is getting smaller on the inserts that list current and potential projects.  However, making these lists and dreaming such dreams is easier than picking up a possibility or two, and making a go of it.  This first Sunday of February, we are asking people to indicate if they are ready to commit level 1 or level 2 support for a particular project.  Once we have some of that in place, it'll get even more interesting.  May God grant us energy and grace, discerning hearts and minds, and faith to move forward to what we are called to.

Looking further ahead . . . we,ve noticed that April 1 falls on a Sunday this year.  Last time that happened it was Palm Sunday, and we had a donkey walk up the aisle.  It's Palm Sunday again this time around and I'm on the lookout for ideas on how to make it special.  We're considering the theme: The Last Shall be First, and wondering how to have some fun with that.  Shall we start with the Benediction, from the back of the church??  More ideas are welcome.
