The Algonquin Art Centre in Algonquin Park has come to life thanks to the Irwin family of Huntsville. Doug and Orla Irwin, owners of The Framing Place and Gallery in Huntsville, were encouraged by daughter Darla, son-in-law Matt, and sons Chad and Joel to bid on the provincial tender to run the park gallery for five years. The Irwins invited 14 of the finest Canadian wildlife artists, including Robert Bateman and Brent Townsend to display their work. The gallery also has a gift and souvenir boutique and outdoor art garden. A former café on the grounds houses children's art activities, and serves refreshments.

Located at km 20 on Hwy. 60, the gallery is open daily from June through to October. (Check gallery website for specific dates of operation.)

The historic and recently restored swing bridge spans the river a few blocks west of the Framing Place and Gallery, reminding us of the days not so long ago when steamships used to ply these waters.  The new, spacious gallery offers a variety of Group of Seven reproductions, as well as original paintings and sculptures by Canadian artists.  After enjoying the beauty and serenity of the Muskoka landscape abounding in lakes and trees, take a walk down Huntsville's historic Main Street and be sure to visit the Framing Place and Gallery located in the east end of the town.
