Jean-Pierre Fortin, 1945-2008

My father passed away very peacefully on Friday afternoon at the hospital, surrounded by my mother, my sister Julie, and me. He was a good man, much loved by his friends and family including me. His suffering is over, but we all miss him terribly.

For those of you who are in Windsor or who are able to come to the funeral from away, here are the details.

VISITATION AT THE THE WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Rd East on Tuesday from 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 PM. Parish prayers Tuesday evening at 7 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2008 at 9:15 AM from the Funeral Home then to St. Jerome Church (3739 Ypres) for Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Procession to Heavenly Rest Cemetery, followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre or to the Hospice of Windsor & Essex County. Mon père s'est éteint tout doucement vendredi après-midi à l'hôpital, entouré par ma mère, ma soeur Julie, et moi. Il était un bon homme, beaucoup aimé par ses amis et sa famille, moi inclus. Sa souffrance est finie, mais il nous manque terriblement.

Voici les détails du service:

Il sera exposé mardi de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 21 h au salon funéraire Windsor Chapel. Il y aura des prières à l'église le mardi soir à 19 h. Le service funéraire débutera au salon funéraire mercredi le 26 novembre à 9 h 15, suivi de la messe à l'église St-Jérôme à 10 h. La procession se fera ensuite au cimetière Heavenly Rest, où il sera incinéré. Nous demandons des dons à l'Hospice de Windsor & Essex ou au centre régional de cancérologie de Windsor plutôt que des fleurs.
