Green!

I've been neglecting the blog... Time to post something! I knit the Yarn Harlot's delightful 1-row scarf as a little thank you gift for my pal Trillian42 a while back. (I also knit her a very cute Hat for Alex out of some lovely Manos Cotton Stria in navy using the Child's Hat pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, but unfortunately I forgot to take a picture.) The yarn is Fleece Artist Nova Socks, and I love all the shades of green in this colourway. I cast on 42 stitches (of course) and just kept knitting on my 3.75 mm needles until I had used up the whole skein (one skein is enough for a pair of socks). It was a really simple project, but a very satisfying one. After the holiday knitting is done (I think I finally got un-stalled on that front this morning... I was having a bit of a paralysis this week, trying to choose a mitten pattern for a friend, but I made up my mind and just cast on these a few minutes ago), I do believe I'll need to make one of these for myself -- as a little "instant gratification" project when I want to take a break from the sweater I started for myself earlier this month, Kate Gilbert's Cardigan for Arwen. So far I've only knit the back -- a stockinette rectangle. I think I'll save the cabling for the new year, after I've knit up some Christmas presents!

Aha! So THAT's the pattern you used. Everyone at my SnB was oohing and aahing over it last week, and they were all asking what the pattern was.

Thank you again, sweetie. It's so beautiful, and I love it!!!!
