SP9 Spoilage the Last

Yesterday morning as I was rushing around getting ready to go visit my friend Sabina in London, I was feeling a little bummed out about not having any socks to match my outfit. I resolved to wear boots and not think about it too much, figuring she would understand when I got to her house and took off the boots that I'm on vacation, and the comfort of my white sport socks was more important than fashion. Still, one of the last things I did before leaving was to go get the mail at the post office, since I had not had a chance to do so the day before. To my great delight, my much-anticipated final package had arrived from my upstream pal this round, the ever so lovely Trillian42 of Katydid Knits! Inside the box was the loveliest Lantern Moon knitting basket filled with treasures. As I knew she was making me something, the first thing I reached for was the knit item: these gorgeous socks! (Here's a detail shot.) They're a perfect fit, as you can see -- and great timing, the colour just happened to match beautifully with the sweater I was wearing!! The yarn is Socks that Rock Heavyweight, and it is as soft as it is pretty! The pattern is Turtlegirl's Red Dwarf Socks. These socks will keep my toes toasty all winter, and will give me great pleasure to look at every time I put them on. And as if the socks and the basket weren't enough, there was yarn (three skeins of Cascade Quatro in a lovely teal, and the leftover Socks That Rock yarn... yummy!), "Soak" wool wash, and even more serendipity: FOUR CDs!! Two '80s mixes, one of a band called Carbon Leaf, and another of Pink Martini. So I had excellent road music for my drive to London! Trillian42, from one 42 to another, thank you so much! You were such an awesome pal -- I feel completely spoiled (especially since you CHOSE me, *and* knit socks for me!!)

Yay! I'm so very, very glad you like them and that they fit you.

I can't wait to hear what you think of the cd's. :)

Wow! Do those socks ever look like the "Monkey Socks" from knitty.com.

They look great!

Wow I didn't know she made you the RD socks! how cool!

(And I swear, I've never made a pair of monkeys and never looked at the pattern when I wrote this one. Besides, the back is completely different!)
