Tomato!
I don't often post pictures my works-in-progress, but since it is WIP Wednesday out here in knitblogland, I thought my secret pal out there might get a kick out of seeing the sweater that her gift of the KnitPicks Options 4.5 mm needle is making possible. (Or at least, way more pleasant than it would have been using my old cheapie circs.) The pattern is "Tomato" from Amy Singer's No Sheep For You. I am omitting the stripe of herringbone colourwork from the bustline, as I think the sweater will be more versatile that way -- I'll be able to wear it with different colours of skirts and pants. (Besides, those who know me are well aware that I hardly need to put more emphasis on my frontage! The deep scoop-neck will do that quite nicely, thankyouverymuch.) Thanks to the knittyboard, I learned before it was too late that this sweater is best knit with negative ease for a flattering fit. I also learned there's a good chance I'll have enough of this yummy yarn leftover -- Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton in "Thistle" -- to lengthen the sleeves. I saw a blogger who'd made elbow-length sleeves and I thought it looked smashing. I'm aiming to get this done before the first Knitters' Guild meeting of the 2007-'08 season in September. And knitting stockinette in the round with this lovely worsted weight yarn and fabulous needle, there's a very good chance that will actually happen! Thanks again, pal!

Wow! Look at you go! That's a beautiful color, and I am thrilled that the new needles are working out so well for you! I can't wait to see further progress on it.
