Derek and Lisa go camping

I'm only a month late posting these pictures... Last month, when we attended the renewal of Kristen and Al's wedding vows, we camped out overnight at the Chippewa Creek Conservation Area in Wellandport, in the Niagara peninsula. I can't believe Derek and I have been together for seven years and it was our first time going camping together. We've brought along our tent to sleep in the backyard when visiting family and friends, but I'd never been to a campground with him. (He used to go camping a lot more before we met, so he had all the gear.) I actually had a lot of fun, so I hope we start doing this more often. We made a deal: I looked after all the packing, and he looked after cooking us a very hearty breakfast. (We'd already had supper at a wonderful restaurant in Fonthill called The Wild Rose, as I mention in my post about the Frogpondfarm wine.) I was quite pleased with myself: the only significant item I forgot was a flashlight, which we were able to buy in town between the ceremony and the reception. (So of course we ended up buying a whole bunch of other stuff too, since we went to Canadian Tire, our favourite toystore!) The campground had a lovely little lake that we took a walk around, photographing this flock of geese swimming at sunset. Go look at the pretty pictures! Here's the Flickr photoset.
