The last of the Christmas FOs

For Christmas, I knit the baby bonnet from Joelle Hoverson's Last Minute Knitted Gifts for my newest niece, Aria, but I only got around to taking pictures this past weekend. The main yarn is washable Rowan Cashsoft Aran, and the knitted-on i-cord trim/tie is Shoeller + Stahl Wonderwool Tweed from my knittyboard SP6, hbrogan. The yarns did not knit up to the pattern's recommended gauge, so I did some math to make it work, and as you can see, I got a perfect fit! Although the bonnet took me quite a bit longer to knit than the book suggested it would (since I'm a slow knitter and the book's estimates are aimed at speed demons only), it was still a pretty quick knit and a pleasure to make. I enjoyed learning the knitted-on i-cord technique. I will definitely make this bonnet again for other babies in the future.

Are you kidding? I love the look of this piece in the photo!

Your self-critic needs a pop in the nose sometimes.

Actually, so does mine -- let's put that on the agenda for April.
