Fetching!

My final package from my CASP3 ("cheap-a$$" secret pal 3), Liz, known as Blu Roux on the knittyboard, was these lovely wristwarmers, that she knit for me in a lovely deep murky green wool blend from the Knitty pattern Fetching. The picture doesn't really do them justice, unfortunately (it was pretty grey outside this morning -- I think it would have come out better if the sun had been shining)... anyway they're much prettier in person. Thanks, Liz! As I told her, I'll be wearing these to read in bed when the rest of me is nice and toasty but my hands are cold while holding my book.

In other secret pal news, my SP7 downstream pal Skitten recently posted a picture of what may have been my favourite FO of 2006, a feather & fan silk scarf I knit for her from Handmaiden Lace Silk in the Berry colourway. It looks just fabulous on her. I'm really proud of my work on that scarf. I had given the yarn to my SP5 downstream pal Etcgirl; she gifted me with the leftovers after she knit herself a gorgeous lace stole, so I "paid it forward" by knitting Skitten a scarf with it. (I still have some left to make something for me, though. Fabulous yardage on that stuff.)
