Thank you!

My downstream secret pals have been so awesome, befriending me, giving me gifts. Rae was no exception. Look at the awesome package she sent me as a "thank you" for being her pal: locally produced handmade soap, angora yarn, and her own hand-dyed sport weight wool! I absolutely LOVE this colourway and can't wait to have time to knit it up into something pretty just for me. (I'll have to find a pattern first.) The angora yarn is from a thrift store sweater she scored. She frogged about half of it for me (so there's way more than what you see here) and I finished the frogging, which was my first experience with recycling a sweater myself. It was quite an adventure, and boy did my couch and I look like we'd been attacked by bunnies by the time I was done, with the fuzzies everywhere! This buttery soft lettuce green yarn might actually become the subject of further experimentation... I'm considering trying my hand at Kool-Aid dyeing for the first time. I'm thinking I could get some excellent Christmas and secret pal gift scarves out of it. Of course I'll save some of the yarn for myself too. Rachel, with your busy and stressful life, thank you so much for taking time to send me this gift of yourself. I am truly blessed.
